When activated, all color will be removed from the display and a black-and-white image will remain. The internal processor will display RED color on the screen where sharp edges appear. When the camera operator adjusts (racks) the focus control (on the camera lens), different parts of the image will have RED colored edges. This indicates that that portion of the image is sharp or in focus. Final focus is achieved by racking the camera lens focus control back and forth until the desired portion of the image has RED colored edges. Please note that this feature is most effective when the subject is properly exposed and contains enough contrast to be processed.

    Manufacturing of HDMI Cables

    Manufacturing of HDMI Cables

    Hdmi

For quality reasons, many customers are now looking for HDMI cables manufactured in the US as opposed to HDMI cables manufactured in China. Our observation, however, is just the contrary. This short article explains why a customer won't find a US-based manufacturer for this important product.

The term HDMI is an acronym for High-Definition Multimedia Interface. An HDMI cable is used to connect high-definition audio and video sources to displays like HDTVs. Often, HDMI cable has terminals at the end for ease of connection.

The manufacturing of HDMI cable is quite complex. Although a handful of U.S. manufacturers have the capability to produce such cables, manufacturing of High-Definition Multimedia Interface cable is rarely done on US soil. In fact, nobody actually claims to manufacture HDMI cable in the US. The main reason for this is the high labor cost involved in manufacturing, which is very time intensive. Therefore, any US manufacturer - attempting to manufacture this - would have faced prohibitive production costs. On the contrary, the labor cost is comparatively cheap in China and that is why manufacturing of this particular type cable is done in China. Moreover, connectors - suitable for the terminating High-Definition Multimedia Interface cable - are also assembled in China for cost reasons. So, Chinese manufacturers are ahead, cost wise, both in the bulk cable and connector market. For a customer, US-manufactured cables probably don't exist, and if they did, the cost would be exorbitant.

Consider estore.circuitassembly.com as your preferred High-Definition Multimedia Interface cable source. We have our manufacturing line in China. We only purchase raw materials from outside suppliers, but manufacture our own high-quality HDMI cables in this Chinese plant. As a mark of high-quality, our cables have the HDMI trademark sign, signifying stringent quality standards, on the cable jacket itself. This trademark - issued by HDMI Licensing, LLC - can only be used by manufacturers who must pay ,000 per year to HDMI, LLC. As a manufacturer, Circuit Assembly also pays royalties to HDMI, Inc. on the sale of products bearing the HDMI mark.

So, when you purchase HDMI cable from us, you can be assured of the highest quality for your multimedia experience!

Generic HDMI Cables Are Bad and Branded Cables Are Best - Get A Pinch Of Salt Here

Generic HDMI Cables Are Bad and Branded Cables Are Best - Get A Pinch Of Salt Here

    Hdmi

If you thought purchasing HDMI devices was tough, just wait until you are forced to buy a replacement HDMI cable or a DVI to HDMI adapter for your computer or television. Fancy sounding technical names offered by different brands and manufacturers of HDMI cables can leave you thoroughly confused. Will using a cheap HDMI cable affect video quality? Will it affect the life of the HD device? What is the standard length? What if I want a longer cable? Can I just buy any HDMI cable or should I go in for the a specific brand?

Replacing HDMI Cables - Let The Troubles Begin

Most individuals use the cable and adapter that is packed into the box of the HD devices. This is the path of least resistance and one just has to focus on the device and ignore accessories like cables and adapters. This approach works fine until you are forced to buy a replacement cable.

These cables are built to last and can withstand a lot of damage. However, cables go bad and may render the HD device useless unless you go in for a replacement. People presume that Canon will manufacture HDMI cables just because they make HD cameras. That is like saying that GM will manufacture upholstery just because it makes cars. Makers of HD devices have tie ups with specific manufacturers for cables and adapters. The cost of accessories is included in the cost of the product and replacement cables, if needed, are your headache.

The Service Center Is Not Your Best Friend

Of course, the friendly guy at the service center will be more than eager to sell you a HDMI cable as a replacement. He will probably smirk when you request a longer cable and tell you that going in for a non-standard length is not advisable. Your feet start quivering the moment you hear the word non-standard and you quickly go about changing your interior design just to ensure the standard length HDMI cable suits your purpose.

    HMDI Cable Myths Busted

Here are some facts about HDMI cables and accessories that you need to know before proceeding any further.

    - You can buy cables that are 15 feet long. It will not impact quality negatively. Those who use HDMI for professional and commercial purposes do not complain of lack of quality when using longer cables. You certainly should not face problems when you probably want to bore your friends to death with your HD vacation videos.

    - Brand matters when you are buying HDMI devices. Brands do not matter when you are buying cables. Still not convinced? You are free to buy branded and expensive cables. Cost, quality, longevity - there is very little you will gain by paying five times the standard price for branded HDMI accessories.

    - You do not have to be a rocket scientist to buy good HDMI cables. The fancy terms are just jargon and you need not fear them once you understand what the terms mean.

    - If you are not satisfied with quality after using a generic cable, perhaps you need to look at shielding. In some cases, generic cables may lead to poor quality but the wide cost difference means you can give them a try before choosing branded and high cost cables.

What to Look For in an HDMI Switcher

What to Look For in an HDMI Switcher

    Hdmi

Being able to purchase yourself an HDMI switcher is a wonderful thing to do. The problem that a person could run into though is that they do not know what features they should be looking for. Since they might not know what to look for they could find that they waste some money before they find the proper one to suit the needs that they have.

Before a person starts looking for these they need to consider having a price range in mind. By having a price range in mind a person is going to be able to find the proper one for them to enjoy without breaking the budget that they have in place.

One thing that a person should look for is going to be if the item has a remote control or not. This item could allow a person to hide the unit away and out of normal vision range. So a person can have friends over and not have to worry about them seeing this item.

Something else that a person needs to keep an eye out for is going to be if the item contains the cable or not. The cable can be rather expensive at times, but a person could find that if it is already included that they will not need to hunt one down or spend even more money.

Another thing to keep an eye open for is if the switch is powered or not. If the switch is powered by a separate cord it will have a better performance, but it is powered by the items that are plugged into it a person could see that it might be a little bit on the sluggish side.

A person needs to consider how many inputs and outputs are present on the switch. Since a person is already in a pinch on the number of inputs they need to find one of these that has more than the available ones on the television. However, a person could find that the number that are available still are not enough for the items they need to plug in.

When person wants to get the most out of the television that they purchased they may need to get an HDMI switcher. When they get one of those they could see that they can finally enjoy getting multiple items plugged into the television that they want to watch knowing that it is going to be in the high definition that they have.

How to Hook a Laptop to a TV - What Do You Need?

How to Hook a Laptop to a TV - What Do You Need?

    Hdmi

Today, many laptops are designed more for media related purposes such as watching movies with blu-ray players, DVDs, and even the media from the hard drive. This gives many people a very good reason to use their laptop as a home theater entertainment source. It is also very useful for business related purposes.

Pretty much every laptop comes with an HDMI connection which is great for hooking the laptop to the TV. As long as both the TV and the laptop have an HDMI connection, any length of HDMI cable will work great for you. On some newer laptops, the video and audio can be transmitted from the lap top to TV from a single cable. However, if you are having trouble getting audio to play out of the TV, then you should get a stereo (headphone) to 2 RCA (red and white connections) audio adapter cable. This will allow you to play audio out of the laptop along with the beautiful picture an HDMI cable will provide.

If you have an older laptop that only has a VGA output, then you can use a VGA cable for the video, but it will not be able to produce the same high resolutions that an HDMI connection will provide. Some people ask if a VGA to HDMI converter will work, but unfortunately they will not be able to produce the same quality as HDMI.

Some laptops have a DVI output. DVI is capable of the same high resolutions HDMI can do since they are both the same type of digital signal. The only difference is that DVI can only carry video to the TV. So for those with DVI on their laptop, all you will need to hook the laptop to TV is a DVI to HDMI cable and the stereo to RCA adapter cable I mentioned earlier.

Turtle Beach DSS Part 2: Review

Turtle Beach DSS Part 2: Review On YouTube.

Video review of the Turtle Beach Earforce DSS Please visit www.turtlebeach.com for more information Please comment Please follow me on Twitter @ www.twitter.com Please visit www.mlgpro.com for my written reviews on headsets So the DSS is Turtle Beach's answer to Astro Gaming's Mixamp. It is a dolby headphone decoder unit that adds virtual surround sound to any stereo headphone or headset for 90 dollars while Astro's Mixamp sells for 130 dollars. So the DSS is more of a mixamp for those with budget in mind. But as with everything, you're getting what you pay for. There are some differences in features between the Astro Mixamp and the Turtle Beach DSS. - Virtual surround sound is the same. Turtle Beach advertises the DSS as a 7.1 decoder, but optical signals cannot transfer over 5.1. What Turtle Beach does here is emply Dolby Pro Logic IIx that takes 2 channels from the 5.1 signal and then duplicates them(matrixes them) to add 2 more channels. So it's sort of like you have 2 more speakers playing the exact same sound as the other speakers are playing, doesn't really provide another cue of positioning. In any case, I refer to this kind of processing as "virtual virtual 7.1". So like I say in the video, performance between the DSS is comparable to the other popular decoders out there today. -While the Astro Mixamp has Coaxial, RCA, and optical inputs, the DSS only has an optical input and a 3.5mm input. If you got an RCA to 3.5mm adapter, you could connect your system to the ...

One good way to narrow down the choice, is to check out the highest selling models at a major retailer - everybody can't be wrong!

Yamaha receivers are one of the most respected models around, so let's check out the most popular models at Amazon.com (find all AV receivers, and then sort by company name and then best selling).

It is also useful to make a note of the main features of each one.

    1. Yamaha RX-V363BL 500 Watt 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver

5.1 surround sound 100 watts per channel HDMI 1.3 switching - 2 in 1 out
    2. Yamaha RX-397 100 Watt Natural Sound AM/FM Stereo Receiver

2.0 Stereo Sound 50 watts per channel No HDMI switching
    3. Yamaha RX-V663BL 665 Watt 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver

7.1 surround sound 95 watts per channel HDMI 1.3 switching - 2 in 1 out
    4. Yamaha RX-V465BL 525 Watt 5-Channel Home Theater Receiver

5.1 surround sound 105 watts per channel HDMI 1.3 switching - 4 in 1 out
    5. Yamaha RX-V463BL 525 Watt 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver

5.1 surround sound 105 watts per channel HDMI 1.3 switching - 2 in 1 out

Once you have narrowed it down, you are then in a better position to make your choice based on price and features.

Rule out the ones that are too expensive, lack the right connections, are underpowered, have poor reviews or are just plain ugly - and you are left with a couple of contenders.

One thing to consider is that most popular models may also be older models. However, this can be a good thing in that you can get a good quality receiver at a cheaper price (you might not need the new features). You can always check the manufacturers website for the latest models.

Obviously, you can also do this for the other major manufacturers to get a wider choice.

HDMI DVD Upconverting Players And Other SD To HD Solutions

HDMI DVD Upconverting Players And Other SD To HD Solutions

    Hdmi

HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface. An HDMI player is a DVD player that uses HDMI technology to carry a digital signal (for both audio and video) to a TV - all in one cable. It has much more bandwidth than its predecessor, DVI (Digital Video Interface). Thankfully, HDMI is backward compatible with DVI. Overall, it performs much better than DVI or the archaic - but surviving - component video. The big benefit of HDMI DVD players is that it is a practical solution to a big problem. How does a person watch SD (standard definition, or standard def) DVDs on a high definition television? More importantly, how does a person do this and not buy a Blu-ray player and replace a whole library of DVDs with Blu-ray discs? Some people have very large libraries of DVDs - from movies like Iron Man to home videos of birthdays and holidays that were transferred from VHS to DVD. The DVD VHS transfers in themselves would be expensive to replace because one would have to go back to the original analog source or the high resolution digital files (if any were made) and have them now transferred to Blu-ray. The HDMI player is a perfect solution to this potential catastrophe.

With an HDMI player you are able to watch any standard definition DVD on your high definition TV - in high definition! It does this by scaling up the resolution and then deinterlacing the video so it does not look like a bunch of pixels jumping all over the place. Depending on the size of the screen, the converted video can actually look so close to HD that many people can not tell the difference.

The HDMI player is very economical compared to some of the alternatives. It is possible to get a really good Samsung HDMI player for somewhere between and 0. Suppose you want something better? There are some more expensive alternative HDMI players on the market. For example, there is Oppo Digital with its line of high end upconverting HDMI DVD players. Some of Oppo Digital's HDMI players cost up to 00. That's expensive but still less expensive than buying a Blu-ray player and replacing a large movie library of DVD discs.

Well, you could bite the bullet and go Blu-ray. Of course, this would be the most expensive solution to your problem. You would then have to replace all of those DVD discs with Blu-ray discs as they become available (not all Hollywood movies are on Blu-ray). And you will need to transfer all of your home movies and videos again - this time to Blu-ray. To do this you'll have to decide whether to buy a Blu-ray burner yourself or pay someone to do the transfer of the home videos to Blu-ray for you. This will be even trickier than DVD VHS transfers.

Another solution is the external video processor. You'll need a good standard def DVD player to start. Then you will need an external video processor (also called a 'scaler') to run the video signal from the standard def DVD player through the external video processor and then to the HD television. These external video processors could cost you a few thousand dollars. So it is kind of in between going Blu-ray and buying a high end HDMI upconverter if you add up all the expense of replacing DVD discs with Blu-ray discs.

If all of these scenarios seem too expensive or impractical, then try this one last suggestion. It may or may not work. You will need to check your settings on your standard def DVD player to see if this is even possible with your brand and model. See if you can change the settings on the standard def DVD player from 480i (interlaced scan) to 480p (progressive scan). This might give your new HD TV something more to work with. HD TVs come with upconverting and deinterlacing technology as well. Many of the better HD televisions can usually do pretty well at scaling 480p to 1080p. Although HD TVs can do this, most HDMI players do it much, much better than the HD TVs. The problem HD TVs have is usually with deinterlacing. But if your standard definition can be set to deinterlace the video before sending it to the HD TV, then the HD TV may be able to do the rest that is needed to give you a decent picture.

Well, this was a lot of information and some of it was very technical. Hopefully, one of these solutions above will give you what you need to set up a successful HD theater in your home.

A Media Enabled Home - Connecting Multiple HD Devices Together Over Long Distances

A Media Enabled Home - Connecting Multiple HD Devices Together Over Long Distances

    Hdmi

If you own more than one High Definition (HD) capable television and several HD capable 'toys' then you may need a way to connect these all together. High definition really does make a difference especially on large screens and the extra cost is usually worth it. But the question is how do you connect all these devices together, while taking full advantage of their HD capabilities.

One way of accomplishing this is to use a HDMI matrix. These come in a few configurations but the most common are 4x2 and 4x4; which means 4 inputs and 2 outputs, and 4 inputs and 4 outputs respectively. A matrix will allow you to connect any input device to any output device. Not only that but you can also have any combination of input to output. For example you may have 4 TV's and 2 skyHD boxes; a matrix will allow you to connect one skyHD box to 3 of the TV's and the remaining sky box to the other tv.

A HDMI matrix with HDMI ports means you are limited to using HDMI cables which are only usable up to about 15 meters without boosters. This doesn't give you much freedom in locating your devices around the home especially if you want to locate devices in separate rooms or you want to run your cables along walls to keep things neat. Long HDMI cables are also fairly expensive especially you want decent quality ones.

Another option is to use a HDMI over CAT5 enabled matrix. This gives you the ability to send high definition signals over standard CAT5 networking cable - which is many times cheaper than HDMI cable. These devices can also transmit full 1080p over a distance of 50 meters! Which should be sufficient for most homes. You can also get an in line repeater module which will extend the distance up to 100 meters.

There now even newer devices which can transmit HDMI over IP. Bear in mind that this is not the same as HDMI over CAT - which is essentially just using the CAT cable as a cable with no networking protocol involved.

The HDMI over IP devices are truly grand in their specifications. They allow cable runs up to 1000 feet and can transmit to up to 200 compatible devices all using a standard Ethernet infrastructure.!

Unsurprisingly such power comes at a price and these devices are significantly more expensive than the standard HDMI only units so it's good to do some surveying first before buying either one. However, this is relatively new technology so prices are sure to drop given time.

What Does HDMI Mean and Is It Important To Me?

What Does HDMI Mean and Is It Important To Me?

    Hdmi

You may have heard or seen the terms HDMI, HDMI receiver and HDMI cables, but you may not know what HDMI means or what it is for. Here is some information to help you understand what HDMI is and if you think you may need HDMI cables or receivers.

The abbreviation HDMI stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface. This term of course only applies to HD TVs and is not interchangeable with other standard televisions. An HDMI receiver is a catch-all device to hook up your media devices such as gaming platforms, dvd players and surround sound speakers. Because many HD TVs only have one to two HDMI plug ports, you will only be able to plug in one to two of your electronic devices directly into the TV.

This is a hassle because if you have surround sound stereo speakers hooked up to your TV, you won't want to unplug these every time you want to hook up another device, so one port will always be in use. Likewise, it is a hassle to unplug and switch cables from your cable box to your xbox or dvd player whenever you want to use one instead of the other. Enter the HDMI receiver. Many receivers have three or more ports to plug in audio/video inputs and outputs so you can maximize your home theater system. The HDMI receiver will manage all of your devices in one and send all of the information to your television through an HDMI cable.

An HDMI cable is a "superwire" of sorts. These cables can transfer all sorts of information through one cable instead of several. Think of the cables you are used to using with non HD TVs: the wires with the red, white and yellow connectors, each for either audio or visual input or output. HDMI cables bring all of these into one simplified cable that takes up only one plug port on your television instead of three.

HDMI technology really streamlines your devices and can improve your home viewing experience with the latest technology. And, like with many other technological devices, what you pay for is what you might get with many HDMI receivers or cables. A less expensive HDMI receiver may have 3 plug ports while a more expensive counterpart may have up to 7. As with any larger purchase, doing some research on the internet for different brands and types of HDMI receivers - as well as the cables - may save you time and money. Before purchasing a product that may have a history of technical issues or is not worth the money spent, read consumer reviews posted on internet websites of companies selling the brand you are interested in. Check out other consumer tech review websites to find out the most recommended type of HDMI receivers and cables which will suit your budget and your home theater setup needs.

Check all of your devices to make sure they are compatible with HDMI receivers. Some gaming systems are not HDMI ready. You may only have two devices - a cable box and one gaming platform - that you use most often and will plug right into your TV. In this case, you may not need to purchase an HDMI receiver until you add more devices.

HDMI Repeater and Your Audio and Sound Systems

HDMI Repeater and Your Audio and Sound Systems

    Hdmi

Don't you hate when your video drops out? Do you have a long HDMI cable and HDMI repeater between the source and the projector monitor that causes this? HDMI is a High Definition Multimedia Interface and is used for transmitting unprocessed digital data. It is currently the one cable that has the greatest ability to deliver high quality video and audio.

By using this cable, you can send video/audio from a source (DVD, HD box, etc) to a display like a TV or monitor. This cable which connects the two is made up of 19 individual wires forming one cable. This can be used with an HDMI repeater which is connected at the end of the HDMI cable or used to connect two cables together to make a longer HDMI connection.

This type of extension is very flexible with regard to your cable length as two cables can be used. THE HDMI repeater is very effective up to distances of 100 feet. This will work with both HDMI to HDMI and DVI (Digital Video Interface) to HDMI cables.

The repeater will perform best if it is placed at the end of the cable with a short HDMI extension cable to the display. Ideally the extension cable should not be more than 13 feet. There is not much to it: there is an HDMI input and output. There are also status lights to indicate performance.

What's the difference? Why use HDMI? The cable features a bandwidth of 5 gigabytes per second (GBPS) or even more. This provides the speed needed to transmit an HD signal plus with more space leftover. HDMI transmits a pure, uncompressed digital signal. While other connections use a digital-to-analog conversion and this can downgrade the picture quality.

Not like other video connections, HDMI includes audio, eliminating the need for separate audio cables. HDMI delivers the best high definition picture and highest quality sound and doing away with excess cables.

If you are planning to buy a high definition television and also subscribe to HD programming, HDMI is a very good choice fro connecting your components together and guaranteeing the highest quality video and sound. When considering to get a new television set, take into consideration how many sources you will be connecting using HDMI (cable, DVD, Blu-ray, gaming system, etc) and make sure it has a suitable number of HDMI inputs.

HDMI is a recognized technology, there are slight variations of HDMI such as HDMI 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3. There are some sub-versions as well. Before deciding, read more about the specific features and differences. Being well informed about the pros and cons and different specifications will prove worthwhile when you enjoy your new audio-visual experience in high definition.

    DVI & VGA - What's the Difference?

    DVI & VGA - What's the Difference?

    Hdmi

You've probably heard about these two types of connections before - and the number of times that they have been used on televisions and home entertainment systems. But what differences, are present between DVI and VGA cables which make up for the noticeable differences in video quality?

VGA, or otherwise known as Video Graphics Array, has been around since the late 1990s when it was first developed to connect monitors to Macs. The newer DVI, or Digital Video Interface, is both newer and more commonly used with intermediate displays and a number of higher quality digital equipment.

The differences between the two are not properly understood. The VGA display is based on analogue signals, and the data that is transferred through the cable after being converted from a graphics card and the converted into a digital format at the other end which is understood by the display. The drawback of this conversion process is not only the inability to monitor the exact monitor's elements, or in other words, individual pixels, and thus may lose some quality in the process depending on screen size, resolution, and synchronisation properties of the signal with the displays physical properties.

DVI provides a much faster and easier solution to this process, making it much more reliable as a means of transferring data for displays. Although there are several types of DVI which are available, they are designed to be compatible with each other as so to avoid setting different standards for different displays.

DVI-D is basically the base digital format. It transfers the signal from a DVI graphics card and then converts it into an analogue signal at the receiving end. Although this process still implements an analogue converting process, the end result display is still much higher than VGA due to the advancement in technology since the initial development of VGA.

    HDMI and Toslink Cable Benefits

    HDMI and Toslink Cable Benefits

    Hdmi

In the growing world of high definition entertainment, it is important that tech-savvy consumers have access to the highest quality peripherals. One often-overlooked area is the Audio/Visual cables used to connect your entertainment devices to your television or monitor. Regardless of how expensive or cutting edge your game systems or media players may be, if they are still connected to your screen using old-fashioned analog cords, you will not be able to appreciate the true increases in quality that are possible with HD content.

HDMI cables are digital alternatives to traditional analog cords such as component or composite cables. Traditional analog cables must compress data streams being transferred to the television, resulting in loss of sound quality, and degraded image sharpness. HDMI cables by comparison use no compression whatsoever, leading to an extremely crisp high resolution image, and accurate lossless sound.

Since 2003 the HDMI has been taking over the electronics world, providing substantially improved entertainment for those who have Blu ray players, DVR's, high def cable boxes and game consoles like Playstation 3 and XBOX 360. This cable format supports the real high definition performance levels, 480p, 720p and 1080p, along with an updated HDMI cable now able to handls 40p, 1600p, and 2160p resolutions. For those who have video cameras and high level computers the HDMI is backward capable with the Digital Video Interface, DVI, enabling them to connect and put out HD quality content.

Going for the high end audio purist the Toslink cable offers a superior connection for the audio components. This is also called a Optical cable as it is a super high quality digital optical connector being offered on such things as high end CD players, DAT recorders, and MiniDisc recorders. There are also some computers like Apples Unibody Macbooks that have incorporated it as well.

These cables are very similar to the HDMI in that the connection is all digital which raises the quality for what you're recieving. Toslinks have the audio travel through a fiber optic cable which assures no loss of quality on the other end. There's no loss due to compression which is really crucial for those who do sound editing and playback because you get to hear the whole recorded sound. Both of these cables, HDMI and Toslink should be your standard if you aspire toward pure audio and video.

    3D TV's What You'll Need At Home

3D TV's What You'll Need At Home Video Clips.

3D: Active vs Passive Right now, whether you're viewing 3D in a movie theatre or in the home, doing so requires those funny glasses. There are two main types of 3D display technology: Passive and Active. In both cases, glasses are used that are matched to the display or projection format. These are generally designed to be worn just like normal glasses, and in fact can be worn over the prescription glasses you may already use. Passive (or Polarized) is the 3D process that's by far the most common in theatres - think RealD and IMAX 3D. In a nutshell, the way the process works in theatres is that two different images - one for your left eye and one for your right eye - are projected at the same time on the screen but through special polarized filters oriented at right angles to each other. The glasses in turn each have matching polarized filters - the left lens matches the left-eye projected polarized image, and the right lens matches the right-eye projected polarized image. This allows each of your eyes to receive its own discrete image, slightly offset from one another, and your brain interprets the resulting visual input as 3D. Active (Active Shutter) is the 3D process that's most common in homes with new 3DTV displays. The advantage of active shutter for the home is that it can deliver a full 1080p image to each eye. The way it works is that the lenses of active shutter glasses are essentially mini LCD screens. When a small electric current is applied to them (via ...

HDMI Matrix Switch Creates a Web of HDMI Interconnections

HDMI Matrix Switch Creates a Web of HDMI Interconnections

    Hdmi

A complex combination of HDMI source and display devices can be achieved using a HDMI Matrix Switch. It is used to route and relay HDMI Video from multiple inputs to multiple output devices simultaneously. By eliminating the need to disconnect and reconnect the devices, this piece of hardware saves time, effort and unnecessary clutter. Since HDMI technology uses only a single cable to relay audio as well as video, high definition video and multi channel audio can be relayed as encrypted and uncompressed digital streams over a single thin cable.

Hardware devices such as HD-DVD players, satellite set-top boxes, TiVo systems or PCs that are HDMI-equipped and HDCP-enabled are all compatible with this switch. The HDMI Matrix supports a variety of form factors including 2x2, 4x2, 4x4 and 8x8 input - output configurations. In order to achieve larger distributions and multiple viewing combinations, one can daisy chain or stack these switches. Easy to install, and operating on simple plug and play functionality, setup requires only connecting the HDMI sources to the matrix's inputs and the displays to its outputs. Once powered on, the switch is ready to use.

Control over the sources and displays can be exercised using infra red remote control, front panel push buttons or RS232, depending on model type. Indication of the selected source is provided by the LEDs on the unit. This HDMI Video Matrix Switch works at a HDTV resolution up to 1080p, 2k and computer resolution up to 1920 x 1200 and relays images without ghosting of images or data loss, resulting in crisp and clear images.

The built-in repeater and equalized chipset can boost digital HD signal length and ensures that the resultant display is not pirated. A key feature is the ability to extend the range of HDMI compliant devices by equalizing and re-clocking the HDMI signal. Supporting a video amplifier bandwidth of 2.25 Gbps or 225 MHz, this device is equipped with regulatory approvals from CE, FCC and RoHS along with being compliant to HDMI and HDCP standards. This HDMI Matrix Switch finds usage in digital signage applications, commercial establishments and home theater set ups.

HDMI TV Cables - Always Do the Research Before You Buy

HDMI TV Cables - Always Do the Research Before You Buy

    Hdmi

As the technology of HDTV's continue to become more complex, consumers need to educate themselves on particular products to guarantee it is the right fit for them. There is tons of information out there that ways the pros and cons of HDTV, but the most important feature is whether it has a HDMI tv cables and a DVI connection. The reason is these two connection slots are what is needed to take full advantage of the HDTV experience. So with your HDTV, you can connect your cable, blue dvd player, home theater system, and even your computer.

I know a lot of you are still using the standard video component cables that were use with your analog models. You may also notice that these component connection slots consisted for a red, green, and blue slot to transfer video and audio signals through your home entertainment. Using a HDMI system, you will only have to use one single cable to transfer video and audio signals throughout you HDTV digital components.

Of many of you may say that component video cables have been around a while and they are cheaper than HDMI connectors. That is a true statement but there are lesser brands available that can meet anyone's budget. Plus, component video cables are analog and built for an analog television set. So with these cables, you will not have the same advantage of a digital experience as you would with just using a HDMI tv cables. With that said, it only makes sense to use the proper cables with your HDTV components.

For consumers that are interested in using their HDTVs as a monitor for their computer, a DVI cable is needed. DVI, much like a HDMI connection, is digital but lacks the ability to carry audio signals. So an extra component cable is needed to transfer sound from your computer.

Now if you want top of the line in video and audio cables to broaden your digital components, HMDI cables are superior. What makes them so superior is it only takes one cable to transfer video and audio digital signals. So this means that you have less of a hassle trying to figure out where to connect these cables and a reduction in cable clutter.

So now that you know the reason you should use HDMI connectors for your digital component, your next step are to do some research to determine which cables are for you. There are many expensive models out there but there are also lesser models that will give your digital components the same effect. Just remember when you finally make that purchase; there is no difference in the video and audio signals when you're comparing higher priced cables versus lower priced ones. As long as your HDMI tv cables are verified, you will achieve the ultimate digital experience with your HDTV components.
